AQUA 2010 New Products Awards – Winners Announced

After a keenly fought contest the judging panel have chosen their winners from the 50 entries in the inaugural AQUA New Products Awards Competition. The judges were looking for the best product or service within five categories – Aquaria, Water Gardening, Shopfitting/Epos, Reptile/Terraria and Ancillary.

All of the entries and winners are showcased in the New Products display area within the show.

Category: Aquaria Product or Service
Judged by Len McGlashan (Water World Ltd), Jerry Arnold (Seapets) and Richard Muggeridge (West Country Water Gardens)

Winner: Aqualantis Fashion Aquarium Black & White – ALF Ltd stand B31

Judges comment: Innovative design, well illuminated with LEDs. Clear packaging with user friendly information – perceived as good value for retailer and end user.

Judges comment: Unique, innovative product; clear graphics for ease of retailing; potential for repeat sales; value for money

Category: Shopfitting/EPOS Product or Service

Winner: Pond Liner Pre-Pack Stand – Gordon Low Products stand H1

Judges comment: Thoughtful merchandising tool, eye-catching and informative graphics, compact design, plus flexibility to extend

Judges comment: Convenient, compact reptile unit, well priced with many features. Good entry level retail unit.
